"NeoPixel" is a trademark by AdaFruit. Any ws2812b light should work.

When connecting a NeoPixel to a 5V or 3.3V microcontroller, put a 300-500 Ohm resistor in series with the data-pin. Also put a 1mF capacitor over the NeoPixel.

Be sure that your powersupply can give enough amps to power it. Because LEDs are not linear, using a value range of 0-64 can be almost as bright as 0-255 but with 75% less power usage.

Also be careful with cooling. With for example this board (containing 64 neopixels in an 8x8 array) you convert 3.84A (3 (r+g+b) * 0.02A * 64) or 19.2Watt of electricity to light but also a lot of heat!
