Artificial Intelligence simulating famous painters

Artificial Intelligence/machine learning is not only bringing us better ads on web-pages, it can also be used to create art.

On this page you will see the famous actress Scarlett Johansson virtually painted by an artificial intelligence software pretending to be a certain painter.

For example, shown is how a painting by vincent van gogh would look like if he painted "scarlett johansson sitting in a room".

The command for the AI was each time: "scarlett johansson sitting in a room, [...] style" where "[...]" is the name of the painter I wanted to simulate.

This is a NURDspace (Wageningen, the Netherlands) project.

At NURDspace (a Dutch hackerspace) we have a server with an NVIDIA videocard. This enables us to run the "Stable Diffusion" software.

From what I understood the "Stable Diffusion" software analyzed a few billion(!) images into a dataset of 4GB. The only requirement for these images where that they also had a descriptive text (meta data).

Using this dataset and the SD-software, you can just enter a few words of what you want to see and the software produces an image with that.

This set of pictures was generated on the server or NURDspace on a rainy afternoon. Thanks to Bertrik Sikken for the idea of letting Scarlett being painted by van Gogh.
